Overview
Brachioplasty, commonly known as an Arm Lift, is a cosmetic surgical procedure that removes excess skin and unwanted fat from the upper arms. It is particularly beneficial for patients who have experienced significant weight loss or age-related skin laxity, resulting in loose or sagging skin.
The procedure reshapes the upper arms to create a firmer, smoother and more proportionate appearance while improving overall body contours and confidence.
Why Choose Brachioplasty?
Brachioplasty helps restore the shape and firmness of the upper arms by removing excess skin and improving body proportions.
- Removes loose, sagging upper arm skin.
- Improves arm shape and definition.
- Reduces excess fatty tissue when required.
- Creates smoother and firmer contours.
- Improves confidence in fitted clothing.
- Long-lasting results with a stable weight.
- Tailored to your individual anatomy.
- Natural-looking surgical outcomes.
Who is a Good Candidate?
Brachioplasty is suitable for healthy adults with excess skin and soft tissue of the upper arms that has not improved with exercise alone. Patients should be close to their ideal body weight and have realistic expectations regarding surgery and recovery.

Every arm lift procedure is individually planned according to your body shape, skin quality and treatment goals to achieve balanced, natural-looking results while minimising visible scarring wherever possible.

Surgical Technique
Preparation
The arms are carefully marked before surgery to determine the amount of skin and tissue that will be removed while preserving natural arm contours.
Skin & Tissue Removal
Excess skin and, where appropriate, excess fat are removed through carefully planned incisions. The remaining tissues are reshaped to create firmer upper arms.
Closure
The incisions are meticulously closed to encourage optimal healing and achieve the best possible cosmetic outcome.
The Procedure
Brachioplasty is usually performed under general anaesthetic as a day-case procedure and typically takes between two and three hours depending on the extent of correction required.
The operation generally involves:
- General anaesthesia.
- Removal of excess skin.
- Reshaping of the upper arms.
- Careful wound closure.
- Application of dressings and compression garments.
- Day-case discharge.
- Regular follow-up appointments.
